I was born and raised in the suburbs of Kansas City, explaining my allegiance/ obsession to that area’s sports teams. You’ll find me proudly supporting my Chiefs, Royals and Jayhawks!
Other interests include the occasional game of golf and I’ll accept any challenge when shooting pool. I enjoy swimming and, believe it or not, I do find shopping to be a nice escape from the walls of work.
I moved to Chicago when I was entering high school and, upon graduating, enrolled in a Chicago-area broadcasting school. My boyhood radio idol turned out to be my instructor and I spent many hours learning the tricks of the trade at a young age. The hands-on experience answering phones and witnessing how a large city radio station looks and sounds proved invaluable.
After a brief stint in a small town in Nebraska, I made my way to Tennessee. This is where I gained on-air experience, as well as news gathering, reporting, programming, commercial script writing and taking out the trash! I settled into a long career in Middle Tennessee. The close proximity to Nashville gave me a strong base for my country music roots. While in Tennessee, I was able to weekly make the trip to Nashville during football season to be the host of college football scoreboard shows for Vanderbilt, Oklahoma and I spent the most time, 11 seasons, hosting the Penn State Nittany Lion Scoreboard Show.
In 2009, I came to Yuma to become an on-air personality and Operations Manager for El Dorado Broadcasters three Yuma-based radio stations. “I wouldn’t trade any day of experience in my career because it all proved invaluable. I am so glad, however, that my travels have brought me to Yuma. This is a terrific community in a beautiful part of the country. I am very fortunate to be here.”
I have a son in Florida and a granddaughter in Tennessee.
